My Internship at NIC Asia Bank / 2021

Being a 1st year BBA Student I wanted to try out an internship in a bank. So last month, I applied for an internship and I got a call from NIC Asia Bank for an interview. the next day I went to the bank to sit in a group interview and we were told about our department.

Our Internship was in the Digital business department. To confirm my internship, I got a recommendation letter from my college, my citizenship copy, a photo, and my internship got started.

NIC ASIA bank provides a multitude of digital banking services like Mobile Banking, Internet banking, and other digital channel application like Online Account Opening, fixed deposit services, Online Credit cards, QR Payment, Viber Banking, and Card Payment, many other services.

NIC ASIA Bank is one of the largest banks in Nepal in terms of a Digitally enabled customer and merchant partnership base.

I remember I was very excited but On my first day and I was wearing half Pants though. lesson learned: bank employees don’t wear half-pants at their job.

Our internship works were focused on QR Payments. we had two major tasks.

• 1st was the sales of QR, where we had to call the businesses to use a QR code and once they confirm to have a QR Payment for their business.
• we create a QR and deploy it to the customer, During deployment, we taught them how it works, help them download the fonepay merchant app, and answer any of their concerns.

Besides QR, my other task included data entry works, Pan — Verification, and going out in the market to interact with customers.

Overall, around 2 months of the internship at NIC Asia Bank was a fun-filled, experience, In March 2021, I decided to commit my 3 months for this internship With the opportunity and expectation to learn about first-hand banking experience. My expectation was somewhat met, I became friends with bank employees and other interns and had first-hand experience from the bank.
